So, after I got finished bashing Eclipse and Aptana for eating my Ruby files, I got around to finally getting the upgrade done. And the new Aptana RadRails suite is pretty good. The critical feature that they've added is the HAML editor [don't get me started on my love for HAML], but they've also improved the Databases view and the SQL Explorer and SQL History view for easy access to one's database. I'm sure there is more in there, but it's what I've found so far.
Being a good F/OSS citizen, I opened some bug reports to Aptana, and I've got to say, the turn-around on getting a response (especially since I'm not a paying customer) was impressive. They fixed my main HAML editor bug in a few days in an update release, and have committed to fixing my other bugs in the next point release.
So, well done to Aptana. So far, the RadRails experience has been very good, especially for a free offering.
