Chapters, Weird Business Model
I had a couple of books that I needed to pick up for a new project and decided to drop into the local Chapters last night. One of the books that I was looking for was $43.82 online (which is a pretty decent price compared to the cover price of $68.99). When I located this book in the store it was for the full price. I asked an employee if the online price applies in store and my answer was "no".
Scimatic Software "Inc."
As of June 4, 2007 Scimatic Software has become an incorporated company. This change comes at a perfect time seeing that we are nearing the five year anniversary of the company. There are some other big changes for the company... stay tuned as these will be announced at the start of July.
CDOT Grand Opening
I was invite to the grand opening of the Centre for Development of Open Technology (CDOT) center at Seneca college Thursday afternoon. CDOT is a great concept for Seneca to connect with industry to bring forward open source projects and ideas.
Dave Humphrey had the best statement of the day during his presentation... "Open source is sharing, Open source is community". I think that this statement sums up the whole purpose for this center.
