I was lucky enough to get a spot in the Apple iPhone Tech Talks yesterday last week (forgot to post this) in Toronto at MaRS. I really enjoyed it.
Overall, it was a very well-run show. The presenters seemed quite knowledgeable, and in one day managed to communicate both the excitement for and possibilities of the iPhone. Plus it's actually these folks in the photo who did the presentations. I have never done Objective-C, Cocoa, Mac or iPhone development, but still learned a lot and feel well-positioned to give it a shot. That probably means the level of the discussion was a bit low for actual iPhone developers (although I was in the "junior" track of sessions), but the opportunity to talk to Apple and other devs was also a plus that made a free day worthwhile. Plus they had pretty decent food, real coffee cups and the free t-shirt.
Clearly I've drunk the Kool-Aid.
