Samples 1.1 Release

We are pleased to announce that we have released our first big update for Samples!

We have added lots of exciting new features to help you map your workflow into Samples better.

User Request - Experiment Cloning

The typical user of Samples configures an experiment and runs this experiment several times tweaking the protocol.

To help aid this workflow we have added the ability to clone Experiments and Containers.

User Request – Samples Splitting

Another typical workflow process of our users is to transfer/split samples from one container to another.  For this we added the sample splitting wizard.

SamplesSplitting

By using  the Sample Splitting Wizard the user can split the contents of one well into well(s) in a new plate.  The splitting wizard works for all labware, not just microtiterplates as shown above.

Once the sample has been split the new plate will appear in the container tab as a sub-container to container from where the samples was split:

Introducing Mixtures

The purpose for splitting samples into a new well/container is to allow the scientist to add another sample to the contents of the well.  To handle a well that contains more than one sample we came up with the concept of mixtures.

Mixtures are treated the same way as samples except for how they are created.  A mixture is created by added two or more samples together.  It is also possible to combine mixtures together to create a new mixture.
